Prayer
Loving God, we live in a time when sins and failings, past or present, are often used as weapons to injure rather than as opportunities to promote growth and communion. Help us to recognize that we are all imperfect together. Open our eyes, that we might see each other as sisters and brothers. Open our hearts that we might, in a spirit of forgiveness, seek to overcome wrongs and promote solidarity among all. Amen.

God of new life, the celebration of a New Year is not just the movement of the calendar. It is an opportunity to change, to transform our lives in light of your love and truth. Inspire us to stand in solidarity with our Jewish sisters and brothers as they celebrate the beginning of a new year. May we together, moved by the stirring of your Holy Spirit within us, commit to transformation in our hearts, in our lives, in our families, in our communities, and in our world. In joy and with hope, we pray. Amen.
