Reflection

“Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O LORD, you know the whole of it. Behind me and before, you hem me in and rest your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; too lofty for me to attain.” –Psalm 149:4-6

Prayer

God who hears,

It is a wonder and a comfort that you know us completely—every thought, every sorrow, every silent prayer. Even in our suffering, your intimacy with us can bring soul-filling peace, for nothing about our pain is hidden from you. Today, as we serve those who are hurting in mind, body, and soul, let our compassion and presence be a source of strength for them and a sign of your nearness and love. As you accompany each of us, especially in times of sorrow and pain, we thank you. Amen.
