Reflection

“A person without a sense of humor is like a wagon without springs. It’s jolted by every pebble on the road.” –Henry Ward Beecher

Prayer

Joyous God,

We invite your blessing on all those serving at the bedside today. Give them ongoing strength to face the day’s challenges and the wisdom to find light in the darker moments that come. Help us all to hold tight to good humor and joy, so that when the burden feels heavy and the hours long, laughter can still bring moments of grace. Even amid the seriousness of our calling and the painful realities we often face, encourage us to live into our full humanity and welcome the joy that we can. Amen.

Call to Action

Don’t overlook my sense of humor today. Remind myself that it’s okay to laugh and look for moments of levity in the midst of work that is often very serious.
