Women’s Equality Day
Reflection
“The moment we begin to fear the opinions of others and hesitate to tell the truth that is in us, and from motives of policy are silent when we should speak, the divine floods of light and life no longer flow into our souls.” –Elizabeth Cady Stanton
Prayer
Good Creator,
Today we gladly celebrate the passage of the nineteenth amendment and the broader recognition of women’s equality in every area of civil society. Bless our celebration and strengthen our voices, that we may always have the courage to speak out for what is right and good and true. Fill our hearts with gratitude for those who came before us, who worked tirelessly to make the world more just, by upholding our dignity and equality as creatures before you. May their example encourage us in our efforts to create a better world. We pray this in your name. Amen.
