Prayer
God of good works,
So many in our world hunger today—hunger for food, for health, for safety, and for spiritual nourishment. We often lift these needs to you in prayer, hoping they will be fulfilled. Yet, through our call to serve others with the compassionate ministry of Jesus, we come to see that we are often the answer to those prayers. You invite us to be your hands, helping to satisfy the hunger of those in need. Strengthen our hearts to always be willing to serve, to reach out, and to love as Jesus loves. Through his name, we pray. Amen.
Prayer
God of life,
Each day, we are called to be reflections of your love and presence to those we encounter. How we live, how we serve, and how we treat others speaks to the life you have entrusted to us. Let our actions, and when needed, our words, be vessels of your love and peace. May those we meet see in us a glimpse of you—the true source of all peace. In your holy name, we pray. Amen.
National Hospital Week (Cont.)
Prayer
God of Hope,
Our hospitals stand as places of freedom and healing for all who enter, offering relief from pain and comfort in times of uncertainty. Within these walls, caregivers become beacons of hope, walking alongside those who struggle with illness. We celebrate the work done each day—seen and unseen—by the dedicated hands and hearts that serve. Bless these places of healing and those who labor within them, that they may continue to bring your hope and wholeness to all. Amen.
International Nurses’ Day
Prayer
Gracious God,
We give thanks for the skill, compassion, and unwavering dedication of the nurses who serve so selflessly in our world. These men and women answer the call each day, bringing healing, comfort, and hope to those in need. Their tireless care helps restore health and wholeness to the lives of the sick. We honor their work today and ask that you bless them with strength, patience, and the knowledge that their service is a true reflection of your love. With hearts full of gratitude, we pray. Amen.
Mother’s Day
Prayer
God of Love,
Today, we celebrate mothers of all kinds—natural, adoptive, and those who have become second mothers to us along the way. We look to Mary, your mother, as a beautiful example of the selfless and unending love a mother holds for her children—always seeking their good and guiding them with grace. Bless the mothers in our lives and fill our hearts with gratitude for their care. May we reflect that same love back to them, honoring the gift they are to us. Amen.
Prayer
God of mercy,
As human beings, we often stumble and lose our way. Though we strive to follow your call, the hurdles before us can feel too high to clear, and we sometimes forget the One who walks beside us. Yet, your mercy is unending, and your hand is always there to lift us up. When we face struggles that weigh us down, remind us to reach out to you, trusting that you will steady our steps and lead us forward in love. For this we pray. Amen.
Prayer
Loving God,
Our commitment to the value of service reveals itself as we provide the highest quality in every dimension of our ministry. Inspired by this call, keep us always open to learning new things and finding new ways to meet the needs of those we serve, especially those who are poor, dying, and underserved. May our nurses and caregivers find themselves encouraged and supported to continue growing their gifts in ways that bless them personally and empower our mission collectively. Amen.
