Merciful God,

Our call to stewardship is as vast as creation itself. Inspire in us a deeper sense of conscience, which will fuel effective action, personally and organizationally, for the good of our common home and for all the creatures with which we share the breath of life. Help us to imitate your mercy and kindness, not only towards each other as we face many social needs, but also towards the animals you have put within our circle of care and concern. With thanks for our shared recognition of this crucial area for growth and development, we pray. Amen.
