Feast of Our Lady of Knock
Reflection
“In the apparition of Knock the Virgin does not say a word. But even her silence is a language; indeed, it is the most expressive language that is given to us. The message from Knock is the great value of silence for faith.” –Pope Francis I
Prayer
Living word,
Today as we celebrate the heavenly apparition that occurred in Ireland, 1879, we are drawn to reflect on the gift of your Word, which continues to speak even in the depth of silence. Let the examples of your saints and especially of Mary your mother guide all of us to listen more deeply to the sound of your voice speaking in the quiet of our hearts. There in your presence, may we be filled with a peace beyond understanding and a faith that builds our resilience in the face of life’s many challenges. Amen.
