Prayer

Source of joy,

Happiness can arrive and depart like the unending movement of the waves against the shore. Joy, however, endures despite the rough seas or challenging circumstances of our lives. Stir within our hearts this day the fire of your Holy Spirit, that we may experience deep joy, driven not by the changing circumstances of our lives, but by our persistent trust in your goodness and love. May the joy that only you can bring, extend into the world through us, touching the lives of all those whom we will encounter this day. We pray in God’s name. Amen.
