God of mercy and gratitude,

During Nurses’ Week we pause to recognize the many blessings of your tender guiding hands at work among us. Through the skill and quiet strength of nurses, your care is made visible in moments of healing and hope. When the work is heavy and the days are long, remind our nurses that they do not walk alone. Renew their spirits, steady their hands, and deepen their sense of purpose. May their service continue to reflect your gentle presence in the lives of all they serve. In gratitude for all nurses, we pray. Amen.

God of healing and care,

In the simple, faithful act of hand hygiene, help us see a powerful expression of love, responsibility, and respect for human dignity. May our hands be instruments of safety and healing, protecting the vulnerable and honoring life. May our hands be a comfort for all those who are in pain and also bring compassion to those who are with their loved ones in our facilities. As we wash our hands today, remind us that your love flows through them to all those we serve. In humility we pray. Amen.

You invite us not only to imagine new possibilities but to act with courage and purpose in service of others. In our healthcare work, stir our creativity to see needs differently and our innovation to respond with compassion and skill. Help us move beyond ideas alone, putting thoughtful action into practice for the healing of body, mind, and spirit. When change feels risky or uncomfortable, ground us in trust and collaboration. May all we create and implement reflect your desire for wholeness, dignity, and hope for those we serve. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Give us the courage to release the lives we have carefully planned and to trust the life you are lovingly unfolding before us. When uncertainty or change unsettles us, help us to see possibility instead of loss. Teach us patience in the waiting and openness in the becoming. May we recognize your presence and purpose even in the detours, believing that what awaits us is held in your faithful care. In great anticipation, we pray. Amen.

Form in us hearts that never harden amid the demands of our daily work with patients, tempers that never tire when our own patience is tested, and touches that never hurt but help to heal those who are suffering. In every encounter, let our words, actions, and presence reflect your gentle love, bringing comfort and hope to those entrusted to our care, especially those who are poor, dying and underserved.  We ask this in your name. Amen.

During Mental Health Awareness Month, remind us that recovery is a journey, not a race, and that each step forward is a sign of strength. Help us to support one another with understanding, kindness, and care, creating safe spaces for vulnerability and growth. May those who struggle find hope, guidance, and the reassurance of your ever-present love. Amen.
