Reflection “‘Give your servant, therefore, an understanding heart to judge your people and to distinguish right from wrong. For who is able to govern this vast people of yours?’ The LORD was pleased that Solomon made this request.” –1

Prayer

God of love,

When divisions and tensions threaten to fracture our sense of community, we beg you to intervene in the hearts of our leaders. Here and around the globe, reveal yourself powerfully to those who govern. For their own good as much as the good of their people, humble them to seek your wisdom and to surround themselves with advisors who are committed to putting the common good and the pursuit of unity above private interests and arrogant shows of pride. Amen.

Help us to see everyone as a reflection of your love, deserving of dignity, respect, and care. Let every act, large or small, be a channel of your grace, spreading hope and compassion in the lives we touch. We ask this in your name. Amen.

Loving God,
We give thanks for the life of St. Brigid of Kildare, whose heart overflowed with piety, generosity and action. May her example inspire us to do all that we can to care for the vulnerable and those who are poor and hungry, helping to bring light to places shadowed by need. Help us, like her, to weave communities of kindness, faith, and justice, where all are welcomed and cherished. Let her spirit guide our hands and hearts in service to others, reflecting your love in every act. Amen.
