Reflection “When we’re surrounded by people who believe what we believe, something happens that’s beautiful: Trust emerges, and it’s easier to do great work.” –Simon Sinek Prayer Empowering God, As we strive to extend your compass

Prayer

Empowering God,

As we strive to extend your compassionate ministry today, we ask you to empower us to do great work together, united by our convictions and the fundamental belief that we are making a difference in the world today, one person at a time. Let us practice the kind of integrity that builds up trust among teammates and colleagues, so that a spirit of cooperation can lead each of us to become our best selves while, at the same time, more effectively meeting the needs of patients, families, and communities. In your spirit, we pray. Amen.

Prayer

Unifying Spirit,

When the issues that divide us become fuel for condescension and derision, lead us instead to step back and recommit to become partners in genuine dialogue, committed to a deeper and more hospitable form of engagement. May we in this ministry exemplify a community like this, anchored on humility and always willing to learn from each other across our differences. For the sake of our personal growth and in service to the common good, help us to think less about winning arguments and more about the flourishing of people together. Amen.

Prayer

Merciful God,

As human beings, we know that life on this earth will never be perfect. Though we try our best to do what is right, we will stumble and fall. Yet what matters most is the courage to rise again, to learn from our missteps, and to keep moving forward. Remind us that your love does not waiver based on our success or failure—you love us unconditionally. Strengthen our hearts to begin again, trusting always in your grace. Amen.

Prayer

Faithful God,

Your loving grace is the strength we need to move through our days and serve those who come to us seeking healing. Because of your love and constant presence, we need not fear the challenges before us. When we place our faith fully in you, we find that we have all we need to face whatever lies ahead. Thank you for loving us so dearly, and for walking with us through each moment of the day. Amen.

Reflection “The ultimate test of one’s conscience may be the willingness to sacrifice something today for future generations whose words of thanks will not be heard.”  ~Gaylord Nelson Prayer Healing God, The work we do each

Prayer

Healing God,

The work we do each day—with patients, families, and our communities—is not done for recognition or thanks. We serve for the good of all, trusting that our care brings hope, healing, and a healthier world for generations to come. If our actions are rooted in love and our desire to heal is genuine, then that is thanks enough. Guide our hands and hearts, that through your strength, we may always be a blessing to others. Amen.

Prayer

God of All Creation,

You have formed each of us with care, blessing us with unique gifts and talents meant to be shared. When we live as our authentic selves—not imitating others, but embracing who you made us to be—we reflect the beauty and diversity of your people. Help us to honor these gifts, to share them freely, and to celebrate the goodness in ourselves and in those around us. With grateful hearts, we pray. Amen.

Labor Day

Prayer

God of All Work,

As we celebrate Labor Day in the United States, we pause to reflect on the value and dignity of the work we are called to do. In our ministry of health care, we are privileged to serve those in need—offering not just medical care, but your love, comfort, and compassion. May our daily efforts uplift the hearts and minds of our patients and their families, becoming a source of strength and healing on their journey to better health. We offer this prayer in your holy name. Amen.
