Juneteenth

Prayer

God of justice and freedom,

Today we celebrate the sacred gift of freedom for all your people, especially our Black brothers and sisters whose history holds deep pain and resilient strength. You have created each of us in your image—unique, beloved, and worthy of honor. Help us to recognize your presence in every person we meet and to uphold the dignity and beauty of every life. May we be instruments of your peace, celebrating the richness of our diversity and working always toward a more just and loving world. Amen.

Prayer

God who delights in our becoming,

You created us to flourish, to grow into the fullness of who we are in your love. Though the world can sometimes blur our vision and weigh heavy on our hearts, your steady presence reminds us of our worth and purpose. Help us to trust in the goodness you've placed within us, and to share that goodness freely with others. May we live authentically, rooted in your grace, and bring your love wherever we are planted. Amen.

Prayer

God of peace,

In the midst of our busy days and the noise of a restless world, we long for the stillness only you can provide. Life’s demands press in, and yet you remain our constant calm, offering comfort, love, and the assurance that we are never alone. Remind us to pause, breathe, and rest in your presence. Help us find moments of peace in your grace, and may that peace extend from us to those we serve. In gratitude, we pray. Amen.

Prayer

God of seasons,

As summer approaches, we pause to give thanks for the warmth, joy, and light it brings. These days invite us to slow down, to savor the laughter of children, the gathering of friends, and the beauty found in simple pleasures. Whether in sunshine or stillness, help us to recognize your hand in every moment. May this season restore our spirits, deepen our gratitude, and remind us of the rhythms of rest and renewal you built into your creation. For all that summer offers, we give you thanks. Amen.

Father’s Day

Father’s Day

Prayer

Loving God,

We thank you for the gift of fatherhood and for all those who have embraced this sacred calling with love and intention. A father’s presence—whether through care, guidance, protection, or gentle strength—leaves a lasting imprint on hearts and generations. Today we honor all fathers: biological, adoptive, spiritual, and father-figures who lead with compassion and purpose. Bless them with wisdom and patience as they nurture and guide, and may their love reflect your own unwavering care. Strengthen them for the journey, and let their example help shape a kinder, more grounded world. Amen.

World Blood Donor Day

World Blood Donor Day

Prayer

God who provides,

You’ve given us life—and within it, the precious gift of blood that sustains and heals. As caregivers, we witness the deep need for this life-giving resource and the hope it brings to those facing critical moments. Move our hearts to generosity, not only in words and actions, but also in the simple, profound offering of a pint that may save a life. Remind us that every act of giving reflects your love, and that in sharing what we can, we participate in your work of restoration and healing. Strengthen us to give freely, as you so freely give to us. Amen.

Prayer

God of love,

Mother Teresa saw Christ in every person she served, never turning away from anyone in need. Her example teaches us to love without condition, seeing beyond circumstances to the dignity within each soul. Help us to serve with the same compassion, embracing all with open hearts and hands. May those we care for always feel your love through us. In your holy name, we pray. Amen.
