God of vision,

You call each of us to lead lives of meaning and purpose, reflecting your goodness, compassion, and love in the lives of others. In the midst of change and struggle, help us always to remain grounded in you. Plant within us the wisdom to be a community that champions the quest for meaning and value we all share. And in that pursuit, may we stay dedicated to our fundamental principles and values while being flexible in the path necessary to achieve and embody them. With confidence in your promises, we pray. Amen.

Like seeds planted deep within the earth, you have created us to grow and develop. As persons committed to serving others, especially the poor, the dying, and the underserved, strengthen us in our efforts to create a culture that supports the personal and professional growth and development of all associates. Open our eyes to see your presence in one another and open our hearts to support what is best for each other. Many of your children will cry out to you today, in pain and suffering, illness or disease, or otherwise amidst challenging conditions and struggling to attain their needs. We know that you have called, equipped, and sent us to serve them in your name, and we commit to do so faithfully. Nevertheless we invite you to empower us more by your very spirit, better to hear them, as you hear them, and to respond to them in effective ways, thereby reflecting your mighty liberation and salvation for us all. Amen.

In our moments of independence, remind us that our actions ripple outward, affecting those around us. Teach us to embrace the strength of community, recognizing the blessings of working together for the common good. Suffering God,

Today we begin the sacred journey of Lent, a time to reflect on the depth of your love and the sacrifice made for our redemption. Throughout these six weeks of fasting, prayer, almsgiving, and penance, draw us closer to you. Help us to fully comprehend the suffering you endured out of love for us and let that understanding transform our hearts. May we, in turn, reflect that love through our actions, offering compassion, kindness, and support to those around us. Guide us on this journey so that we may grow in faith and gratitude. We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
