Reflection “By far the strongest poison to the human spirit is the inability to forgive oneself or another person. Forgiveness is no longer an option but a necessity for healing.” –Caroline Myss Prayer Merciful God, We pray today

Prayer

Merciful God,

We pray today for any who may be struggling with the need to forgive, either themselves or another. By your spirit, free every heart from unforgiveness and from all the damage that comes from inner wounds left untreated. As a ministry community, let your healing and grace flow through us in creative and liberating ways, so that people trapped in regret and bitterness might find as much peace for their spirits as they find health for their bodies. As whole people, striving for wholeness, we pray. Amen.

Reflection “Live your life as an exclamation, not an explanation.” –H. Jackson Brown, Jr. Prayer Life-giving Spirit, Your gift of abundant life calls us not merely to drift through existence, but to exclaim your goodness every day

Prayer

Life-giving Spirit,

Your gift of abundant life calls us not merely to drift through existence, but to exclaim your goodness every day, through the decisions we make, the work that we share, and the dreams we pursue together. May we answer your invitation to new life today, so that our words and deeds—indeed our very lives—might serve as exclamations of your love and compassion to a hurting world. Humbly we invite you to use us again, as agents of healing today, coordinating our gifts, talents, and skills in the service of those waiting for help. Amen.

Prayer

God of all comfort,

You call us to comfort your people, loving them as we love ourselves and serving them as you so selflessly served us. Enable us to do so with sensitivity and grace today, tending to those in need with your own spirit of compassion and care. Inspire us to go above and beyond the call of duty to provide for their comfort, so that all who encounter our facilities and associates and providers might be blessed by encountering your comforting presence among us. Amen.

National Human Trafficking Awareness Day

National Human Trafficking Awareness Day

Prayer

God of justice,

In recognition of National Human Trafficking Awareness Day, we implore you to continue empowering our ministry as you have in the past, with a spirit of boldness and power, that we might stand up against the scourge of human trafficking while protecting and defending all victims of such a grievous offense to human dignity. We pray as well that you would protect and defend all those who are right now standing in the gap for vulnerable people in our communities, advocating for them and providing for them. May we all renew our commitment to serve as watchful advocates, on behalf of those in need of our help. Amen.

Prayer
God of all that is beautiful,
It doesn’t take much to see the wonderful beauty of your creation, the work of your hands. A stunning sunset, a gentle rain on thirsty flowers, the nighttime sky filled with stars and galaxies—through these, we behold your handiwork. Guide us to always take time to recognize the magnificence of your creation, even in the smallest of creatures, and to thank you for all we have been gifted with through your love. In gratitude, we pray. Amen.

Reflection “Joy is the spirit of God in time. It is the only taste of eternity that is freely given….Joy is the energy to carry on through dull days knowing that miracles can happen in the future because we have seen them in the past.”

Prayer
God of joy,
Through the work we do with patients, families, and communities, joy can sometimes be difficult to experience because of the challenging journeys we walk with them. Illness and demanding situations are never easy, but through our interactions with each person, we often find joy together, even in the smallest moments. In the midst of struggles and challenges, help us to always seek out those moments of joy to carry us through. Amen.

Reflection “We all have the power to make someone’s day when we make the proactive choice to share our kind thoughts. When we help another shine their light, our light shines even brighter.” ~Tracy Willis Gates Prayer God of ligh

Prayer
God of light,
A quick smile, a joyful ‘hello,’ a kind word, or just a pat on the back is enough to brighten someone’s day. You give us these simple gestures to share with others, reminding them of their value in this world and showing them they are loved. Too often, we get so caught up in our busyness that we forget to pause and share that light. Help us to remember the importance of bringing your light to our patients, families, co-workers, and communities. For this, we pray. Amen.
