World Day of Prayer and Awareness Against Human Trafficking

Prayer

God of  Freedom,
On this World Day of Prayer and Awareness Against Human Trafficking, let us pray for all those caught in bondage. Guide us in seeking new ways to help those in need, and to always be mindful of advocating for their freedom.  Through different forms of training, help us to be more aware of those in danger and respond to their need for help. Amen.

Prayer

God of Stillness,

Sometimes our lives go by in a blur: at work, at home, and all in between. The next meeting, the pick-ups and drop-offs, the errands and chores and duties that demand our attention. In the midst of it all, we know that time spent in stillness and mindfulness is never wasted.  Help us throughout our days to be able to take a couple of minutes simply to be still, to listen, and only then to move forward by your love and energy.  Amen.

Prayer

God of creation,

We have come to the point where our culture has become known as a “throw-away society.”  Help us to turn that label around. Inspire us to reexamine what we buy and get rid of each day, so we can become more conscious of how our consumption affects our environment and your beautiful creation.  Guide us to think more deeply about recycling, reusing and reducing in order to do our part in caring for our world. We ask this in response to your call to love and protect the planet you gave us, our one common home. Amen.

Prayer

Holy Spirit,

There is so much in our world today for which we need to pray: world peace, clean environment, love for others, healing of illnesses.  Knowing that you hear our prayers, guide us to be faithful in praying for others and for ourselves, that we might have strength to continue each day with hope in our hearts and love in our actions. We pray in the spirit of love, Amen.

World Cancer Day

World Cancer Day

Prayer

Healing God,

So many people in our lives are fighting the uphill batter of cancer. Help us to accompany them on their journey; giving them comfort when they are fearful, giving time when our help is needed, and giving prayerful support for what they need from you, the source of all hope, courage, and vision.  Cancer may be a rocky mountain, but with your love within and among us, we can go on as a healing community moving forward together. Amen.

Prayer

God of Excellence,

We are called to give our best in all situations, even when we don’t always feel like we have what it takes.  With your grace and encouragement, help us move forward with perseverance and to respond to the needs that are in front of us.  We are grateful for your love and guidance, as you reveal that putting our best foot forward leads to acts of love and kindness, acts that are never regretted. In the name of love, we pray. Amen.

God of wholeness,

As a ministry, we are fully committed to improving people’s emotional, spiritual, and physical well-being, and to improving people’s access to those things we all need and desire to experience flourishing. On National Wear Red Day, we are especially attentive to the dangers of heart disease, and we ask for your help in continuing to deliver the highest quality care that we can in this area, promoting heart healthy lifestyles and developing new means of intervention and cure. For the sake of your life more abundant among us, we pray. Amen.
