Reflection
“Humor is a serious thing. I like to think of it as one of our greatest earliest natural resources, which must be preserved at all cost.” –James Thurber
Prayer
God of Light,
In a ministry that engages much suffering, help us as healers to preserve and protect the humor we enjoy as a community. Not in a way that denies the misfortunes we see, but as a sign of our hope and our present joy at sharing more of your abundant life with all people. Let your divine spirit of life bubble among us today, as we serve patients and families and communities in need. With all seriousness, help us treasure our capacity for humor and respect our laughter, for healing it can provide hope to those who are weary and hurting. Amen.
