Reflection

“Beloved: The end of all things is at hand. Therefore be serious and sober-minded so that you will be able to pray. Above all, let your love for one another be intense, because love covers a multitude of sins.” –1 Peter 4:7-8

Prayer

God over time,

Without looking too far it surely can seem as if the end of all things is at hand! Just as it must have seemed for those early disciples gathered around your son, two thousand years ago. Each day we are tasked with choosing how to spend the gift of time which you have generously provided, and yet will someday draw to a close. May that thought inspire hope rather than fear in us. Indeed by your Spirit empower us all the more boldly, to pray earnestly and to love our neighbors intensely, putting love into action in ways that cover a multitude of sins. Let your kingdom come and will be done, through us. Amen.

Call to Action

Take some time thinking about who I need to love beyond the brokenness they may have caused to myself or others. Look for a new step towards loving them concretely today.
