Reflection

“[T]he dignity of every human person must be respected today, not tomorrow, and the extreme poverty of all those to whom this dignity is denied should constantly weigh upon our consciences.”
–Pope Leo XIV

Prayer

God of the poor,

You call us, as a ministry and as people of conscience, to reveal your mercy to a world in need, especially those neighbors of ours who are poor, dying, and underserved. As we minister in your name today, help us to recognize the dignity of all those we encounter, beholding each person we meet as a brother or sister made in your image, and therefore a member of our own family. May our organizational mission and value of dignity continue to guide all our policies, priorities, and partnerships, and may Catholic health care in general continue to advocate effectively for those whose dignity is most at risk of being overlooked in our culture today. Amen.
