“The spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me; he has sent me to bring glad tidings to the poor, to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and release to the prisoners, to announce a year of favor from the LORD and a day of vindication by our God.” –Isaiah 61:1-2

Prayer

God of healing, compassion, and liberation,

Today we celebrate the Sisters of Bon Secours and their legacy of good help to those in need. We rejoice in the memory of their founding over two centuries ago. We recommit to the spirit of ministry they have so graciously shared with us and which inspires our work today. And we renew our hope in a future guided by your Spirit and the values of the gospel, which calls each of us to remain faithful to you through our love and service to neighbor. Amen.
