Prayer

God of compassion,

Throughout Scripture and your son’s ministry among us, you have revealed that true greatness is expressed by love in action, as we respond to the needs of neighbors among us. May that heavenly vision continue shaping our hearts as a community, that we may seek the common good and take responsibility for one another. Remind us that we are one human family and that compassionate actions are the best measure of our greatness. Amen.

Be on the lookout today for someone in my community—friend, colleague, stranger or neighbor—who needs compassion. Show them a sign of genuine compassion in word or deed.
