Reflection

“When principles that run against your deepest convictions begin to win the day, then battle is your calling, and peace has become sin; you must, at the price of dearest peace, lay your convictions bare before friend and enemy, with all the fire of your faith.” –Abraham Kuyper

Prayer

Holy Love,

When things we know are wrong are happening around us, give us the integrity to speak out. Fill us with a righteous conviction that can speak the truth in love and call our culture, our leaders, and others, to account. Forgive us for times we have been tempted to say “peace, peace” when there is no peace. Empower us instead to be advocates of justice and live our lives in service to the common good. Amen.

Call to Action

How are my convictions leading me to public action that demands power be more accountable to the good of all?
