Reflection

“Joy in one’s heart and some laughter on one’s lips is a sign that the person down deep has a pretty good grasp of life.” –Hugh Sidey

Prayer

God of all joy,

We are often tempted to worry about things that are more like distractions from a life worth living. Help us keep a good grasp on what matters, by staying close to the things and the people that bring us true joy. May we never take for granted the laughter we share with friends and family during times of connection, and we pray also for more opportunities to experience life-giving joy in the midst of the work we share with colleagues in this ministry. Keep us focused on our mission, on the patients and families and communities we serve, and may we always be joyful in the way that we serve them. Amen.
