Yom Kippur

Yom Kippur

Reflection

“Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, is the holy of holies of Jewish time. It is that rarest of phenomena, a Jewish festival without food. Instead it is a day of fasting and prayer, introspection and self-judgment when, collectively and repeatedly, we confess our sins and pray to be written into God’s Book of Life.”  ~Jonathan Sacks

Prayer

Almighty God,

We come together today, joining our Jewish brothers and sisters in reflecting on our lives and how we can improve them. On this sacred day of Yom Kippur, a time of prayer and repentance, we ask for Your blessings and seek forgiveness for anything we have done that was not in accordance with Your will. Together in prayer, may this day bring peace, renewal, and fulfillment to all. Amen.
