Bon Secours Day
Reflection
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and then put it under a bushel basket; it is set on a lampstand, where it gives light to all in the house. Just so, your light must shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly Father.” –Matthew 5:14-16
Prayer
God our help,
Today we celebrate the 200th anniversary of that momentous day in Paris, when twelve brave young women entrusted themselves fully into your service, establishing a foundation from which to continue bringing bon secours, “good help,” to neighbors in need. Bon Secours Day is a testament to the sisters’ perseverance and to the abiding hope that comes from your call. As we reflect gratefully on their legacy of healing, compassion, and liberation, empower each one of us to respond to your own call in our lives and bring good help to others, sharing your light with a world in need. Amen.
