Good Friday
Reflection
“He was spurned and avoided by men, a man of suffering, knowing pain. Like one from whom you turn your face, spurned, and we held him in no esteem. Yet it was our pain that he bore, our sufferings he endured.” –Isaiah 53:3-4
Prayer
God who knows our pain,
On this day especially, Good Friday, we take time to remember the depth of your sacrificial love for us. The way you willingly chose to offer your life for our sake, so that we might have life and have it abundantly. We are humbled by such love! In response to your merciful goodness, may our spirits overflow with gratitude as we willingly choose to extend your compassion for the sake of others. Help us be willing to share their suffering in the ways that we can; in ways that reflect your mercy, compassion, and love. Amen.
Call to Action
Be especially considerate today of those who are suffering. Extend kindness to them and be willing to take one extra step in showing them heartfelt compassion for the pain that they face.
