“Surely, I wait for the LORD; who bends down to me and hears my cry, Draws me up from the pit of destruction, out of the muddy clay, Sets my feet upon rock, steadies my steps, And puts a new song in my mouth, a hymn to our God.” –Psalm 40:2-3

Prayer

God our foundation,

Our hearts pour out with concern and compassion for the victims of Hurricane Ian, and for all those affected by natural disasters around the world today. We pray for your deliverance, safety, and comfort to come to them. May we who are watching from a distance never take for granted our access to so many necessities and comforts. Instead may we be all the more conscious, grateful, and thereby inspired to share with, provide for, and support those who lack what they need to flourish. In solidarity with all those in need today, we pray they will find a firm place to stand and for abundant life to be restored. Amen.
