Feast of St. Brendan

Feast of St. Brendan

Reflection

“For you were called for freedom, brothers and sisters. But do not use this freedom as an opportunity for the flesh; rather serve one another through love. For the whole law is fulfilled in one statement, namely, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’”
–Galatians 5:13-14

Prayer of St. Brendan

Accompanying God,

Today we share the words attributed to St. Brendan: “Help me to journey beyond the familiar and into the unknown. Give me the faith to leave old ways and break fresh ground with You. Christ of the mysteries, I trust You to be stronger than each storm within me. I will trust in the darkness and know that my times, even now, are in Your hand. Tune my spirit to the music of heaven, and somehow, make my obedience count for You.” Amen.

Call to Action

Take five minutes today to consider how I am responding to the storms in my life. Make an effort to “tune my spirit” with my surroundings, to find peace, and to refresh myself for the next steps ahead.
