Orthodox Good Friday
Reflection
“Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commend my spirit;” and when he had said this he breathed his last.” ~ Luke 23:46
Prayer
Crucified God,
Today, as our Orthodox sisters and brothers celebrate Good Friday, we pause to join with them in prayer in gratitude for the sacrifice of your son Jesus on the cross. May the example of his sacrificial love inspire within each of us a desire to give of ourselves to improve the lives of others and to create a world where justice and peace reign. May the shadow of the cross stir within us the desire and the courage to embody the sacrificial love of Jesus in our own lives. We pray in the name of Jesus, our crucified Lord. Amen.
