World Day of the Sick

World Day of the Sick

Reflection

“Whatever villages or towns or countryside he entered, they laid the sick in the marketplaces and begged him that they might touch only the tassel on his cloak; and as many as touched it were healed.” ~ Mark 6:56

Prayer

God of healing, so many suffer in our world from maladies of the body and struggles of the mind. On this World Day of the Sick, we ask you to renew our commitment to Jesus’ ministry of compassionate care and the pursuit of healing those people who are suffering from illness and disease of every kind. We also give thanks for the many who are working faithfully, diligently, and at risk to themselves to create health and well-being in individuals and communities across our nation and throughout the world. In thanksgiving, we pray. Amen.
