Third Sunday of Advent

Third Sunday of Advent

Reflection

“So they said to him, “Who are you, so we can give an answer to those who sent us? What do you have to say for yourself?” He said: “I am the voice of one crying out in the desert, ‘make straight the way of the Lord,’” as Isaiah the prophet said.””
~ John 1:22-23

Prayer

Lord, when John the Baptist was questioned, he knew it was not important who he was but the person whose way he was preparing. As we continue our celebration of the sacred season of Advent, fill our minds with the wisdom of John to know that our lives are not about ourselves but about serving the one born on that first Christmas.
With gratitude for your presence with and among us, we pray. Amen.

Call to Action

John the Baptist knew his call was for his life to point towards Jesus. Take time today to reflect on how I can make my life point to Jesus.
