Promoting Racial Justice by Overcoming Unconscious Bias

Caring for our Community

As we embrace these difficult times, we stand together in our commitment to our mission to be the compassionate presence of Jesus to one another. Jesus brought the good news of God’s love to all people. When Jesus shared this news with a Samaritan woman alone at a well, his disciples were surprised by his interaction. His action challenged biases rooted in race, gender and marital status.

Promoting Racial Justice by Overcoming Unconscious Bias

“No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.”

-Nelson Mandela
