Mercy Day

Today we celebrate Mercy Day, a special day for the Sisters of Mercy and for Bon Secours Mercy Health. Moved by the suffering of people who were poor, sick, and uneducated in her home of Dublin, Catherine McAuley was increasingly inspired by the example of Jesus. His example fostered within her a desire to serve God’s people, particularly those who were vulnerable and marginalized. Moved by the life of Catherine McAuley and the legacy of the Sisters of Mercy, may we dedicate ourselves to embodying the mercy and compassion of Jesus in our lives and work.
