Humility of Mary Day

This day marks the birth of the religious community known as the Sisters of the Humility of Mary. In 1854, Marie-Antoinette Potier set out to revitalize Christian life by sharing her love of God with the poor children of her village. As more women joined her efforts and developed a communal way of living, the Sisters of the Humility of Mary was formally established as a Catholic religious community four years later on July 17, 1858. For those able to gather to pray and celebrate in person, we hope you have a wonderful celebration and experience of community. The Center for Ministry Formation has also created a virtual prayer experience so that all can participate in celebrating this special day. Happy Humility of Mary Day!
