All throughout Scripture and in our own journeys of faith, you continually invite us to open our heart to the new things your Spirit is doing around us, if only we would open our eyes and follow. Give us the courage and the agility to do so today, that your mission among us might better succeed for the good of our patients and communities. The social problems we face today are multilayered, complex, and often resistant to change. Yet it takes no great skill or expertise to help a neighbor in need. Remind us today that, even if we cannot untangle all the issues affecting us as a community, nation, and world, each of us, with a cheerful heart, can do something that sincerely honors the dignity of the person before us. As a community of healing, guide us to help one another put our problems in perspective and to do what we can to alleviate our burdens together. Whether in the courage of patient care or in the workplace culture we share with colleagues, we pray to see more breakthroughs as we build one another up in faith, hope, and love.
