Kwanzaa

Kwanzaa

Prayer

God of beauty,

Kwanzaa is a celebration of unity, purpose, creativity and faith. Each person of the African community is celebrated, valued and included. Through this wonderful celebratory example, guide us to live each day embracing everyone, thankful for the gifts and talents they bring. May this celebration spread love and joy far and wide. We pray this in your name. Amen.

Christmas

Christmas

Prayer

God of glory,

We rejoice in the miracle of Jesus’ birth—born of a woman, in a humble manger, forever changing the world with love and hope. As we celebrate, open our hearts to those who may feel alone. Let them know your presence, your care, and your boundless love, especially on this sacred day. We unite in prayer for all. Amen.

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve

Prayer

God of blessings,

You bless us with countless reasons to smile and be grateful—whether it’s the laughter of a child, a glowing sunset, or a heartfelt note from a patient. Remind us to pause, give thanks, and share the blessings we receive with everyone we meet. In true thanksgiving, we pray. Amen

Prayer

Gentle God,

Life can be difficult at times, and we may be tempted to make excuses for outcomes. Yet we know excuses never solve problems or move us forward. Through hard work, moral decision-making, and attentive listening, help us join with others to address what needs to be done. Guide us to set excuses aside and instead strive to make a meaningful difference. Through our effort to be good help, we pray. Amen.

Prayer

Loving God,

You had faith enough in us to create the human family, and through that gift of faith we strive each day to answer your call in our lives. Help us to extend that same trust to one another, knowing that placing faith in someone can transform both their life and ours. Faith is a two-way street, for those we believe in often return that gift to us in beautiful ways. Guide us always to see the good in others and to believe in the goodness they bring to the world. In love, we pray. Amen.

Fourth Sunday of Advent

Fourth Sunday of Advent

Prayer

God with us,

As we enter this fourth week of Advent, help us reflect on the ways we have grown and changed during this season. Draw us ever closer to you, spending time in your presence and learning from you how to live a fulfilled life here on earth. May we share that fullness with all those we meet each day, letting your love flow through us so our patients, families, and community know you are near. In your name, we pray. Amen.

Reflection “We tend to get so submerged by the noise in life that we forget to stop, take stock and, especially, be grateful.  Soon you’ll see your whole day as suffused by God’s presence, and it won’t seem very noisy at all.”&nb

Prayer

Gracious God,

The excitement and noise of this season can easily drown out what is truly important in life. Guide us through these busy days so we may focus on the heart of Advent—preparing our minds and hearts for you. With that awareness, may we celebrate Christmas as you intended and experience the deep, lasting joy of the season. In anticipation, we pray. Amen.
