World Smile Day

World Smile Day

Prayer

God of Gentle Encouragement,
You’ve placed within us simple gifts that carry great power—like the warmth of a smile. In moments of heaviness or uncertainty, a kind glance or gentle expression can bring comfort, hope, and connection. Help us to use this quiet gift generously, offering joy where there is sorrow, and reassurance where there is fear. May our smiles reflect your love and remind others that they are not alone. For this grace, we give thanks. Amen.

Health Literacy Month

Health Literacy Month

Prayer

God of Wisdom and Compassion,
You call us to be instruments of healing, not only through skilled hands but also through clear and caring words. During this Health Literacy Month, help us to communicate with patience and clarity, so that every person we serve feels informed, respected, and at ease. May our efforts to explain, reassure, and guide reflect your love and bring peace to those in uncertain moments. Keep us mindful of each person’s needs in body, mind, and spirit as we care with both knowledge and heart. Amen.

Yom Kippur

Yom Kippur

Prayer

God of Mercy and Compassion,
As Yom Kippur begins, we join our Jewish sisters and brothers in honoring this sacred time of reflection, repentance, and renewal. You call all of us to the deep work of forgiveness—of others, of ourselves, and in our relationships with you. Teach us to let go of burdens that harden our hearts, and open us to the healing that forgiveness brings. May this holy season be a reminder that peace begins with grace, and grace begins with love. In your forgiving presence, we pray. Amen.

Prayer

God of Enough,
In a world that urges us to constantly strive for more, help us to rest in the truth that who we are in this moment is already enough. You have gifted us with all we need for today, and through your grace, those gifts are more than sufficient for the work and love we’re called to share. Teach us to trust in your timing, to use what we’ve been given wisely and generously. And when growth comes, may it be rooted not in pressure, but in purpose—for the good of others and the flourishing of your world. In your steady love, we pray. Amen.

Feast of the Archangels

Feast of the Archangels

Prayer

God of Love,
You send your angels among us in many forms—trusted friends, kind coworkers, and even the patients we serve. Each one carries a quiet message of your love, reminding us that we are never alone on our journey. Their presence encourages us, lifts our spirits, and gently redirects us when we stray. Help us to recognize these moments of grace and receive them with grateful hearts. And in turn, guide us to be messengers of love and hope for others. May our words and actions reflect your care, drawing others closer to you through the compassion we share. Amen.

Prayer

Giver of All Good Things,
Each new day is a gift; an invitation to share our lives, our talents, and our hearts with those around us. From hospital rooms to classrooms, from checkout lines to city streets, your people are at work, each with their own calling, each uniquely equipped to serve. We thank you for the countless ways you’ve gifted each of us, and for the opportunities to use those gifts in service to others. Remind us, especially in the rush of daily life, to pause and say thank you—to you, and to one another. Gratitude softens hearts, deepens joy, and draws us closer to your presence. Let it guide our thoughts, shape our actions, and fill our days with light. In your everlasting love, we give thanks and pray. Amen.

Feast of St. Vincent de Paul

Feast of St. Vincent de Paul

Prayer

God of service,
You call us to live rooted in your love - a love that surrounds, sustains, and shapes each moment of our lives. When we walk in that love, we begin to see you more clearly in the faces of those we serve, in the quiet spaces of our work, and in the gentle nudges toward compassion. Help us to serve today not from obligation, but from the overflow of your presence within us. May our words bring reassurance, and our actions offer comfort to those who feel unseen or burdened. In the name of Love itself, we pray. Amen.
