Prayer

Giver of All Good Things,
Each new day is a gift; an invitation to share our lives, our talents, and our hearts with those around us. From hospital rooms to classrooms, from checkout lines to city streets, your people are at work, each with their own calling, each uniquely equipped to serve. We thank you for the countless ways you’ve gifted each of us, and for the opportunities to use those gifts in service to others. Remind us, especially in the rush of daily life, to pause and say thank you—to you, and to one another. Gratitude softens hearts, deepens joy, and draws us closer to your presence. Let it guide our thoughts, shape our actions, and fill our days with light. In your everlasting love, we give thanks and pray. Amen.

Prayer

God of service,
You call us to live rooted in your love - a love that surrounds, sustains, and shapes each moment of our lives. When we walk in that love, we begin to see you more clearly in the faces of those we serve, in the quiet spaces of our work, and in the gentle nudges toward compassion. Help us to serve today not from obligation, but from the overflow of your presence within us. May our words bring reassurance, and our actions offer comfort to those who feel unseen or burdened. In the name of Love itself, we pray. Amen.

Prayer

God over all,

Whether at home or at work or within our wider communities, so much of our success depends on the shared efforts of many individuals, each taking steps of commitment to go forward together. Help us, as we put your healing mission to work today, to commit our hearts and minds to performing our ministry in a spirit of collaboration and unity that brings gifts together. No matter where or how we happen to be serving today, let us be single-minded about bringing good help to all those in need, especially people who are poor, dying, and underserved. Amen.

Prayer

Faithful God,

We pray especially for those who are struggling to live out their faith today. Whether from doubts about which direction to go in their work or personal lives, or because of challenging relationships or suffering and pain. Whatever the cause, let us be a community of faith that encourages one another simply to take the next step. Even if the destination is beyond the horizon, let us accompany patients and families and colleagues and friends in journeys of faith, hope, and love. Amen.

Mercy Day

Prayer

God of Life,

We celebrate the Sisters of Mercy today, giving thanks for their example in ministry and their ongoing inspiration for us as Bon Secours Mercy Health. Help us honor the Sisters’ legacy by sharing the same radical commitment to see and respond to the needs of those most vulnerable among us. Just as Catherine McAuley embodied your son’s spirit of healing and help for the sick, the poor, and marginalized, keep us faithful to do the same in our place and time. Amen.

Prayer

God with us,

You are always and already closer to us than we are to you. When we struggle to sense your presence around us, renew our gratitude for the places we inhabit and the world you have given for us to live, work, and play. Inspire us by the thought that you have your eyes on us and love us just as we are, wherever we are. May we thus find the strength to go on and use our gifts to bring good help and healing to neighbors in need. Amen.

Fall Begins

Fall Begins

Prayer

Good creator,

As time flows on and the season turns to fall, you invite us to pause and take stock of who we are and where we’re going. You have laced your wisdom into the cycles of nature, calling us to reset our hearts and realign our lives in accord with your vision of flourishing. While our days often feel long, and our work is quite taxing, help us not to miss the graces hidden in every day’s passing. Instead, let us be eager to notice and respond to your accompanying presence among us, through all the changes. Amen.
