Eternal God,
As spring unfolds before us, we marvel at the transformation from the stillness of winter to the vibrant beauty of new life. What was once dormant now blossoms, reminding us of the hope and renewal that follow seasons of loss and waiting. Teach us to embrace the seasons of our own lives, knowing that growth often comes through letting go and trusting in your greater plan. Help us to surrender with faith, trusting that you guide us with love and purpose. Amen.

Through your boundless love, you made us a community, calling us to live in unity for the greater good of all. You gifted each of us with unique talents and abilities, meant to be shared to bring healing, hope, and love to those we encounter. Guide us in using these gifts to build a world where compassion and service thrive. You call us each day to give of ourselves for the sake of others—their needs, their hopes, and their dreams. Through your boundless love, we understand that when we reach out to our brothers and sisters, especially those who are poor and vulnerable, it is your hand they feel through our care. Guide us to be your instruments of love and compassion, that through our actions, their hearts may draw closer to you. We pray this with humility and heartfelt love. Amen.

Our mission impels us to serve those who are most vulnerable, while at the same time advocating for a more just and equitable society overall. Lead us further in this work so that everyone’s needs might be secured. In our personal lives, too, help us to practice resourcefulness with all we’ve been given, and to consider how else we can share with those who are lacking. Help us avoid the temptation to store up for ourselves more than we need and be ready instead to give as you give—abundantly and joyfully! Amen.

You see beyond all appearances to look into our hearts and, there, in the quiet of our spirits, you speak life and peace and everything essential for our life and growth as persons in community. Help us to learn better each day how we might be able to do the same thing. In our relationships with friends and neighbors, with family and colleagues, and especially with those who are marginalized or otherwise vulnerable—empower us to see with the heart and speak words of truth, which can release your life-giving power everywhere we live, work, and play. Amen.

Yet, when we live out our call to share the compassion of Jesus, we come to see that life’s fullness is found in service, love, and justice. Creator of Mother Earth,

In his Canticle of the Sun, St. Francis of Assisi refers to Sister Mother Earth who sustains and governs us. We, as human beings, are deeply connected to her, born from her soil and returning to her in death. Today, as we pause for prayer, we celebrate Earth, the very essence of our physical selves, and the senses that allow us to encounter our Creator God in all aspects of the universe. May we always honor this sacred connection, cherishing the gift of creation and finding your presence in its beauty and wonder. May we live out our Bon Secours Mercy Health mission to care for this Earth, both now and in the days to come. Amen.
