You call us daily to be your presence in this world—to reach out with compassion, to see with understanding, and to walk alongside those in need. Help us not only to extend our hands in service but to share our hearts, pouring out your love in all we do. May our words bring comfort, our actions bring hope, and our presence be a reflection of your boundless care. Guide us to be living examples of your love, touching the lives of all we encounter. In your holy name, we pray. Amen.

Springtime has a magical way of invigorating us to get moving again after the long slog of winter. As we enjoy getting back into all kinds of activities, inspire us to continue spring’s momentum in our hearts as well. Make us able to discern the movements of your spirit and to follow wherever you lead. In our personal lives and our shared efforts as a ministry, use us to share more of your abundant new life with all those we encounter. In springtime hope, we pray. Amen.

Gracious Spirit,

As National Public Health Week continues, we pause to celebrate the good work of all those who, regardless of title, commit their lives to serving the big picture of health and well-being across our communities. The vision they possess and the creativity with which they approach a host of problems deserves our recognition, support, and encouragement. May they continue to have all the resources they need and the personnel required to do the best they can for all our sake. Amen.

Joyous God,

Your mission of healing is serious business and we approach it that way. At the same time, we know there is great healing in laughter and that, even in times of deep sorrow, joy can abound. For the sake of the patients and families we are privileged to serve, and for our own sake, too, let there be windows of levity throughout the day by which we can find strength, especially during troubling, chaotic times. Amen.

God of peace,

In our work as a ministry and as people of conscience, continue to guide us by the fundamental affirmation that all people are equal in your eyes, possessing a dignity inherent to their being and therefore deserving of infinite respect. May our promotion and defense of life be radically inclusive, reflecting your own abundant mercy, so that all will find the resources they need to attain your vision of flourishing in community. So many skilled and devoted people, united in a mission to extend your own compassion to a world in need, improving the health and well-being of our communities, and bringing good help to the most vulnerable among us. On World Health Day, we recommit to a mission that we know is so much bigger than securing survival alone, and we champion the cause of your abundant life in our midst.
