God of peace,

In our work as a ministry and as people of conscience, continue to guide us by the fundamental affirmation that all people are equal in your eyes, possessing a dignity inherent to their being and therefore deserving of infinite respect. May our promotion and defense of life be radically inclusive, reflecting your own abundant mercy, so that all will find the resources they need to attain your vision of flourishing in community. In hope we pray, Amen.

Living God,

It’s awesome to think of all the gifts and talents you have placed within this ministry. So many skilled and devoted people, united in a mission to extend your own compassion to a world in need, improving the health and well-being of our communities, and bringing good help to the most vulnerable among us. On World Health Day, we recommit to a mission that we know is so much bigger than securing survival alone, and we champion the cause of your abundant life in our midst. Thankful to be alive and ready to serve today, we pray. Amen.

Fifth Sunday of Lent

Prayer

Renewing Spirit,

You invite us each day to trust you, remembering your promises and opening ourselves to new things. Always you call us to new horizons of faith, and you have proven your faithfulness again and again. Help us, then, to remain alert and attentive to the new things you are doing among us today. May we be as faithful in choosing to join you, healing and restoring the world. Amen.

Prayer

Healing God,

We can become so focused on our physical health that we forget about or neglect altogether our spiritual health. Let the same sense of urgency that leads us to care for our bodies lead us also to care for our spirits. Empower us to be intentional and consistent in making ourselves vulnerable, working through issues we prefer to avoid or simply refuse to acknowledge. Instead may we find wholeness and healing, individually and communally. Amen.

Reflection “Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.” ~Herman Cain Prayer God of true joy, We confess that we often tie our happiness to external

Prayer

God of true joy,
We confess that we often tie our happiness to external measures of success—climbing higher, earning more, or achieving recognition. Yet, these things do not always fill the deepest longings of our hearts. Help us to uncover the true meaning of happiness, rooted not in titles or possessions but in the love and purpose we bring to what we do. Teach us to find joy in serving others, in meaningful work, and in living out your call. Guide us to walk this path, knowing that when our hearts align with your will, we will experience the fullness of true success. Amen.

Reflection “Give something, however small, to the one in need. For it is not small to one who has nothing. Neither is it small to God if we have given what we could.” ~St. Gregory of Nanzianzus Prayer Generous God, In a world over

Prayer

Generous God,
In a world overflowing with need, guide our hearts to give generously, however small the gesture, to help our brothers and sisters. Through our actions, may your love shine brightly, bringing hope and kindness to those we encounter. Remind us that even the simplest act of care can ripple outward, creating a more compassionate and loving world. Inspire us to see the needs of others with clarity and to respond with open hands and hearts, sharing the boundless love you have poured into us. May our efforts reflect your goodness and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve. In your holy name, we pray. Amen.

Reflection “There is something infinitely healing in the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after the winter.  In nature, nothing exists alone.”  ~Rachel Carson Prayer God of renewal, The season of spring

Prayer
God of renewal,

The season of spring stirs our hearts with thoughts of new life, fresh beginnings, and the beauty of creation coming alive once again. Through the blossoming flowers and budding trees, we are reminded of the purpose in every ending and the promise of your love that brings forth new life. As this season unfolds, help us to notice and cherish the many ways renewal is emerging in our lives and the world around us. Fill us with gratitude for these blessings and the hope they inspire. With thankful hearts, we pray. Amen.
