God of justice,

You create each and every one of us in your image and likeness. In your eyes we are all equal and deserving of equitable care. Renew within us this day a profound sense of gratitude for the gift of life and dignity you give to all. Enliven within us the courage and the commitment to pursue health equity, providing all people with the chance to pursue the potential you give to each.  As human beings created in your image and likeness, may we see each other as sisters and brothers, and strive each day to serve with compassion and mercy the communities entrusted to our care. We pray in God’s name. Amen.

Gracious God,

In the midst of a busy world, we often seek to intervene too late to promote the safety of others. Perhaps it took a fatal accident to inspire the installation of a traffic light or the death of a student athlete to produce excessive heat practice guidelines. With such experiences in mind, we come to you today to pray for the many associates across our ministry and throughout the world who strive to prevent infection. May their work, guided by your gracious hand, continue to generate better outcomes for our patients and create healthier communities. We pray this in the name of the God who is the source of health and well-being. Amen.

God of wisdom,

We thank you each day for the gift of knowledge and the wisdom to implement it in ways that are just and effective. We thank you in a special way today for all our associates whose data and analytics provide our caregivers with roadmaps to create the best experience and deliver the highest quality care to our patients. Inspire us all each day to serve our sisters and brothers in need with warmth and concern that they might encounter in and through us the presence of the God who loves them deeply. We offer this prayer in the name of the God who unites us all. Amen.

God of courage,

We are called to extend the compassionate ministry of your son, Jesus. We give thanks today for the many associates throughout our ministry who daily display the courage to improve quality of care for the patients they serve. May we continue to encourage and support our associates serving on the frontline who each day embody our mission to be good help to those in need. Create within us all a heart of compassion and care that we might continue Jesus’ ministry with kindness and grace. We pray in the name of the God who is our source of courage and love. Amen.

Spirit of wholeness,

We are anchored in a vision of health and well-being that includes the spirit as much as the body. As such, help us all to become better practitioners of the whole-person care that makes us unique. Lead us to see our patients and families and communities in all their depth, and equip us to better provide for their livelihood. Not just the basics needed for survival, but all the other, intangible and spiritual dimensions that make a life worth living. Amen.

Give us more of your compassion by sharpening our awareness of the interdependence of all things. May we live into the connections that we share with all living things and never fail in our duty to provide for the web of life that you have designed by your goodness and love. As those who’ve been made in your image, we pray. Amen.

May we show how we cherish the wonders of your creation in the way we protect them from the selfish and greedy. When we don’t know how to make a difference, show us new ways to advocate together in defending the beauty, riches, and romance of the country you have given us. Amen.
