Reflection

“The Lord keeps faith forever, secures justice for the oppressed, gives food to the hungry.
The Lord sets captives free. The Lord gives sight to the blind. The Lord raises up those who were bowed down; The Lord loves the just. The Lord protects strangers. The fatherless and the widow he sustains, but the way of the wicked he thwarts.” –Psalm 146:6-9

Prayer

Just God,

We live in a culture that sometimes snubs its nose at our worship of you. Yet nothing on earth is so vital for our health and well-being than to acknowledge you and walk in your ways. Your ever greater vision of justice and peace is our hope for tomorrow! May all those who claim to know you be willing today to do as you do: securing justice for the oppressed, giving food to the hungry, setting free the captives in mind and body. With hope for tomorrow, use us these ways today. Amen.

Call to Action

In all my encounters today, commit to loving each human person in the dignity they deserve, especially those who are particularly vulnerable.
